Cypherpunk Technologies joined Paradigm, Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase Ventures in a $25 million Series A investment for Zcash Open Development Lab. ZODL’s Zashi wallet, launched in 2024, has grown Zcash’s shielded pool by over 400% and processed more than $600 million in swaps.

Cypherpunk Technologies joined Paradigm, Andreessen Horowitz, Winklevoss Capital, Coinbase Ventures and prominent angels in a $25 million Series A round for Zcash Open Development Lab, reflecting strong investor conviction in privacy-focused infrastructure.
2. Core Development Team Migration
Josh Swihart’s team, including former Electric Coin Company engineers responsible for Zcash’s core protocol, departed ECC in January and relocated to ZODL to continue driving technical progress and ecosystem interoperability.
3. Zashi Wallet Adoption and Metrics
Since its 2024 launch, ZODL’s Zashi wallet has expanded Zcash’s shielded pool by over 400% and processed more than $600 million in ZEC swaps since October 2025, underscoring rapid ecosystem growth.
