CytomX Secures $37M Up-Front and $4B Potential in Expanded Regeneron Collaboration
CTMX•CytomX will receive a $37 million target selection payment under its expanded bispecific immunotherapy collaboration with Regeneron, which now allows up to six additional target nominations and carries up to $4 billion in potential milestones. Regeneron will fund development and commercialization while CytomX retains tiered global royalties on future product sales.
1. Collaboration Expansion and Financial Terms
The expanded agreement grants CytomX a $37 million target nomination payment for two additional bispecific programs and gives Regeneron the option to select up to six further targets. Total potential payments under the deal—including target nominations, preclinical, clinical, regulatory and sales milestones—could reach approximately $4 billion, plus tiered global net sales royalties.
2. Combined PROBODY® and Veloci-Bi® Platforms
CytomX’s PROBODY® platform will be paired with Regeneron’s Veloci-Bi® bispecific antibody technology to create conditionally activated T-cell engaging therapies. This approach aims to remain inactive in healthy tissues and activate within the tumor microenvironment, widening the therapeutic window and reducing off-target effects.
3. Impact on CytomX Pipeline and Strategy
Under the expanded pact, Regeneron funds all development and commercialization costs, potentially accelerating CytomX’s clinical programs. The collaboration builds on a 2022 agreement and strengthens CytomX’s strategic alliances, supporting its goal to advance multiple Probody® candidates across antibody-drug conjugates, cytokines and T-cell engagers.
