Daktronics Unveils 8 mm Pixel, 22,355 Sq Ft LED Upgrade for Yankee Stadium

The upgrades deliver 2–3× higher resolution and vibrancy and include a 10 mm-pixel LED board at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

1. Stadium Installation Overview

Daktronics installed new LED video displays at Yankee Stadium covering 22,355 square feet, including a centerfield board, two flanking boards and extensive ribbon displays across the 200 and 300 levels. The project expands Daktronics’s presence in major league venues and marks the latest upgrade in its longstanding partnership with the Yankees.

2. Technical Specifications

The main centerfield board remains 59×100 ft but now features 8-millimeter pixel spacing with multi-zone content capability for live video, replays, graphics and statistics. Flanking boards are 24×59 ft with matching 8 mm spacing, while the ribbon displays span 614 ft on the 200 level and 1,060 ft on the 300 level at 10 mm spacing.

3. Spring Training Field Upgrade

At George M. Steinbrenner Field, Daktronics installed a 10-mm pixel spacing LED board as a direct replacement on the existing metal structure, improving resolution from 15 mm and extending system lifespan. This enhancement supports the Yankees’ spring training venue and the Tampa Tarpons’ regular season games.
