Danaher CEO Julie Montgomery called AI-driven drug discovery a significant long-term opportunity, saying the company has begun to see a modest benefit to orders and revenue. Danaher plans to launch an AI-powered autonomous research lab by early 2027, aiming to design, build and test antibodies up to eight times faster than conventional methods.
Danaher CEO Julie Montgomery said the company is well positioned to benefit as drugmakers adopt AI to develop medicines, calling AI-driven drug discovery a significant long-term opportunity. She said Danaher’s portfolio of instruments, molecular devices and technologies provides the “building blocks” to help shape the market.
Montgomery said AI is not yet material to Danaher’s business, but the company has started to see a modest benefit to orders and revenue. She said AI is at the forefront of customer conversations in life sciences, and Danaher is accelerating its use of AI across the company and establishing AI partnerships.
Earlier this month, Danaher said it plans to launch its first AI-powered autonomous research lab by early 2027, aiming to design, build and test new antibodies up to eight times faster than conventional methods. It also announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate scientific discovery.
