On Wednesday, Danone announced that it had halted distribution of a specific batch of its infant formula destined for Singapore after receiving a formal request from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). The batch in question, consisting of approximately 20,000 800-gram cans produced at Danone’s factory in Wexford, Ireland, was held at the port of Singapore pending completion of additional quality and safety verifications. Danone’s infant nutrition division generated €1.5 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2025, representing 12% of the group’s total sales, and the company emphasized that this precautionary measure will have only a limited impact on overall volumes in the Asia-Pacific region. The firm has also committed to working closely with SFA to expedite laboratory testing of the affected batch and to share full results of its internal quality audits, which historically meet European Food Safety Authority standards. Investors will be watching for any further regulatory action or potential shifts in Danone’s supply chain strategy for high-growth markets such as Singapore.
