1. Danone Blocks Infant Formula Batch at Singapore Regulator Request

On Wednesday, French food maker Danone announced that it has voluntarily blocked a batch of its infant formula manufactured exclusively for the Singapore market, following a formal request from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). The blocked shipment comprised 2,400 cartons of Stage 1 formula, representing approximately 25 metric tonnes of product, which had been due to arrive in Singapore warehouses on February 2. Danone said the action is a precautionary measure taken in full cooperation with the SFA’s review process, and that no adverse health events have been reported. Singapore accounts for roughly 5% of Danone’s Asia infant nutrition revenues, which totaled €3.4 billion in full-year 2025. Management indicated that the blocked batch will be re-inspected by Danone’s European quality control laboratories, and expects the review to conclude by mid-March, with potential clearance or repackaging to minimize any disruption to local supply. The company stressed that remaining inventory in the region meets all regulatory requirements and that the incident is unlikely to materially affect its Q1 organic sales growth guidance of 3–5% for the Asia Pacific segment.
