Danone halts Singapore infant formula batch; Oikos ranks top-five in Numerator’s 2026 list
Danone said it blocked a batch of infant formula produced for Singapore after a request from the Singapore Food Agency. Oikos, Danone North America’s flagship yogurt brand, ranked among the top five fastest-growing established dairy brands in Numerator’s 2026 Brands to Watch list.
1. Danone Complies with Singapore Food Agency Request to Block Infant Formula Batch
Danone has confirmed it halted distribution of a specialized infant formula batch destined for Singapore at the explicit request of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). The French food maker identified the affected lot during routine quality checks after the SFA flagged a potential labeling discrepancy. Danone says the batch, produced at its Wuxi plant in China, represented approximately 150,000 units intended for the Singapore market. All product movement was suspended within 24 hours of the SFA notification. Danone is conducting additional internal testing to verify full compliance with Singapore’s Infant Nutrition Regulations and expects to share detailed findings with local authorities by early February. The company emphasized there have been no reports of health issues linked to the batch and that alternative formula supplies remain at Singaporean retailers to ensure uninterrupted availability for consumers.
