Data Center GPU Outlook Doubles to $5B as MI355X Production Accelerates

AVGO•AMD raised its Data Center GPU revenue outlook from $2 billion at the start of 2024 to over $5 billion by mid-2025, driven by overwhelming demand. The company accelerated its MI355X series chip production schedule and secured Oracle’s multi-billion-dollar deployment commitment for its next-gen accelerators.
At the start of 2024 AMD forecasted Data Center GPU revenue at $2 billion but raised its outlook to $4.5 billion by July and then to over $5 billion within the year, reflecting demand far exceeding initial projections.
Management reported that the MI355X accelerator series is progressing ahead of schedule, enabling AMD to pull forward shipments to mid-year to address strong customer interest in next-generation AI hardware.
In its fiscal Q1 2025 results, AMD secured a multi-billion-dollar commitment from Oracle to deploy large-scale MI355X clusters, underscoring major customer confidence in its roadmap and future revenue streams.
