Authentic Brands Group has reportedly approached Mattel about a takeover offer that could value the Barbie maker at around $6 billion or more. BAE Systems is among potential bidders exploring an offer for Robin Radar Systems, while ConocoPhillips is evaluating a possible sale of its Norway business and UK Teesside asset after receiving an unsolicited offer.
2. Completed acquisitions
Nuveen said it completed its acquisition of Schroders, creating a combined company with more than $2.6 trillion in assets under management and a presence in over 40 markets. Zurich Insurance Group also completed its acquisition of Beazley. Continental said its ContiTech division acquired Faba Commercial Services.
3. Other announced deals
Land Securities agreed to buy the Metrocentre shopping centre near Newcastle, funded by a £500 million equity issue and existing debt. Malaysia Aviation Group signed an agreement to acquire Airbus unit Sepang Aircraft Engineering; Lynas Rare Earths agreed to acquire Meteoric Resources in a A$968 million all-share deal; Ampol agreed to buy Evie Networks for A$225 million; and Transurban said it will acquire interests in two road groups for A$4.5 billion. Sycamore Partners is reportedly close to a deal to sell Boots to the Weston family for about $9 billion.
