DEFSEC Technologies Appoints Ex-General Dynamics GM David Ibbetson to Board
DEFSEC Technologies appointed David Ibbetson, ex-General Manager of General Dynamics Mission Systems International, to its board, bringing over 35 years of aerospace and defense experience. The company also retired director Paul Mangano to make room for growth aligned with Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy.

DEFSEC Technologies announced the addition of David Ibbetson to its board of directors. Ibbetson served 25 years at General Dynamics Mission Systems and led international operations across Canada, UK, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Turkey and the UAE.
2. Executive Departure
Long-standing director Paul Mangano stepped down to enable the board to include a seasoned Canadian executive with deep defense-program delivery experience. His departure aligns with DEFSEC’s plan to expand participation in Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy.

Leadership changes occur at a pivotal time as DEFSEC seeks to embed its digitization and integration systems into major allied military programs. The board refresh is aimed at enhancing relationships with government agencies and prime defense contractors.
4. Ibbetson’s Track Record
Ibbetson spearheaded delivery of Land C4ISR, CH-148 Cyclone and CP-140 Aurora Integrated Mission System programs, and developed major exports to the UK Ministry of Defense, South America, Asia and Eastern Europe.
