DAL•SAF blending facility opens at Pine Bend refinery
Delta marked completion of a sustainable aviation fuel blending facility at Flint Hills Resources’ Pine Bend refinery to supply Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.
The site can blend up to 30 million gallons of neat SAF a year, using existing pipelines to deliver blended fuel to MSP.
Delta burns about 250 million gallons of jet fuel annually at MSP, its second-largest hub.
The project supports Delta’s target to reach 10% SAF usage by 2030, a key lever toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
