Delta Promotes Carter to President, Janki to COO, Snell as CFO and Goswami CMO

Delta promotes Peter Carter to President, Dan Janki to COO, Erik Snell to CFO and Ranjan Goswami to Chief Marketing and Product Officer while Alain Bellemare takes TechOps chair following John Laughter’s April 30 retirement. These executives now report to CEO Ed Bastian, reinforcing alignment of strategy, operations and finance.

1. Key Leadership Promotions

Delta has elevated Peter Carter to President with responsibility for enterprise strategy, global policy, international operations, real estate, sustainability and diversity teams. Dan Janki advances to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Airport Customer Service, Flight Operations, In-Flight Service, Technical Operations, Reservation Sales and Corporate Safety, Security and Compliance functions. Erik Snell becomes Chief Financial Officer, leading Finance, Fleet and Supply Chain and Monroe Energy, and Ranjan Goswami assumes the role of Chief Marketing and Product Officer to steer brand, partnerships and product development.

2. Retirement of John Laughter

After more than 30 years with the company, John Laughter will retire as Executive Vice President, Chief of Operations and President of Delta TechOps on April 30. His departure opens the path for leadership succession, with Bellemare stepping in as TechOps Chairman to maintain engineering and maintenance excellence.

3. Reporting Structure and Strategic Alignment

All new appointees—Carter, Janki, Snell and Goswami—will report directly to CEO Ed Bastian. This streamlined structure is designed to enhance cross-functional coordination, drive integrated decision-making and support Delta’s long-term growth objectives.
