Denmark to reportedly order missiles from Covenant and Kongsberg
RTX•Denmark will announce deals to buy long-range precision missiles from Covenant and Kongsberg, TV2 reportedly said, citing anonymous sources. The purchases include Anthem missiles and Joint Strike Missiles for Denmark’s F-35s.
1. Missile purchases planned
Denmark will announce agreements on Thursday to buy Anthem missiles made by U.S. defence firm Covenant and Joint Strike Missiles for its F-35 fighter jets, TV2 reportedly said, citing anonymous sources. The Joint Strike Missile is made by Kongsberg and Raytheon.
2. Earlier weapons plan
Denmark’s government said last year it intended to buy long-range offensive weapons, and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the military would “buy, buy, buy” new weapons after years of budget cuts. The move was triggered by the war in Ukraine.
