Dermata enrolls first participant in Tome Clearing Treatment acne trial
DRMA•Dermata Therapeutics enrolled the first participant in an open-label trial of its once-weekly Tome Clearing Treatment for acne. The trial targets approximately 24 participants, and the company expects its second Tome skincare product to launch in the first half of 2027.
1. Trial begins
The open-label trial will have approximately 24 participants apply the treatment for 12 weeks, with an optional 12-week extension. Researchers will assess acne lesion counts, treatment response and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation to support commercialization. The treatment combines salicylic acid with the company’s sponge-derived Bioneedle powder.
