Details on US-China trade talks to come Monday, says Greer

Greer said the United States is expected to release more details on Monday about what it has accomplished in recent weeks of negotiations with China. He described the countries as being in a “managed trade situation” and said they had made progress.
2. Some goods exempted
Greer said the countries agreed to exempt some key goods from trade disputes, including U.S. agricultural products and medical devices and Chinese consumer goods and other non-sensitive items. He said the current talks did not cover a small amount of high-quality U.S.-made chips requiring licenses, calling them “the crown jewels of American technology.”
3. Tariff pause extended
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this week that he and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng agreed to extend until January 10 a deal pausing a trade war in which mutual tariffs topped 100%.
