Deutsche Bank backs Akaysha Energy’s AUD 1.75 billion Australian battery storage refinancing
DB•Deutsche Bank acted as original lender and mandated lead arranger for Akaysha Energy’s AUD 1.75 billion refinancing of four Australian battery storage assets totaling 1,086 megawatts.
1. Portfolio refinancing
The senior secured, non-recourse facility consolidates existing project-level debt across four assets into a single portfolio-level financing structure. Deutsche Bank participated in longer-tenor tranches and became the largest lender in the 10-year tranche. Three assets are operational, while the Elaine project remains on track to complete construction in the second half of 2027. The financing provides flexibility to support Akaysha Energy’s Australian development pipeline of 5.7 GW and more than 22.9 GWh.
