Deutsche Telekom Security Partnership and 39% CIS Revenue Growth Back $108.20 Target

AKAMAKAM

Deutsche Telekom Security has adopted Akamai’s Security Certified Service Provider program to deliver end-to-end API security and microsegmentation services across finance, insurance, critical infrastructure and public sectors. An analyst reiterated a Buy rating with a $108.20 target, citing 39% year-over-year CIS revenue growth and 17% non-GAAP EPS gains.

1. Strategic Expansion of Cybersecurity Services with Deutsche Telekom Security

Akamai has deepened its partner ecosystem by enabling Deutsche Telekom Security, a member of its Partner Connect program, to deliver an expanded suite of managed cybersecurity offerings. Through Akamai’s Security Certified Service Provider initiative, Deutsche Telekom Security now provides continuous Day-2 operations, including hybrid deployment management, quarterly business reviews, API audits and compliance checks, proactive incident management, and routine API security testing. The partner has also integrated Akamai Guardicore Segmentation services, offering segmentation administration, incident response, and compliance support, all deployable on sovereign cloud environments. This collaboration targets key verticals—finance, insurance, critical infrastructure, and public sector—addressing an API threat landscape that saw 150 billion attacks recorded between January 2023 and December 2024, according to Akamai’s latest State of the Internet report.

2. Strong Third-Quarter Results and Edge AI Momentum

Akamai reported robust growth in its most recent quarter, with cloud security and infrastructure services revenue rising 39% year-over-year and overall security revenue up 10%. Non-GAAP earnings per share increased by 17%, driven by accelerated adoption of edge computing and AI inference capabilities. The company’s transformation from a traditional CDN provider into a cloud security and agentic AI edge platform has underpinned these gains, offsetting declines in legacy content delivery revenues. Enterprise customers have shown strong demand for low-latency AI inference at the network edge, positioning Akamai as a leading beneficiary of next-generation digital workloads.

3. Outlook and Investor Implications

Management reiterated confidence in sustained double-digit revenue growth in cloud security and edge AI segments for the coming year. The strategic partnerships, including the Deutsche Telekom Security alliance, and continued product enhancements in API protection and microsegmentation, are expected to drive further upsell opportunities with existing customers and attract new logos in highly regulated industries. Investors should monitor upcoming quarterly updates for potential revisions to guidance, as well as traction in new edge AI services that could accelerate margin expansion and support long-term free cash flow growth.
