The tier-three design offers 99.98% uptime with dual chillers and generators, replicating up to 55 modules on its 70MW site.

Digi Power X has signed a $19.6 million contract for its Alabama data center, marking the company's first AI-focused deal. The agreement covers one megawatt of power and deploys NVIDIA B200 and B300 GPUs through a tier-three modular infrastructure.

2. Strategic Pivot to AI Data Centers

After nearly a decade building tier-one Bitcoin mining centers, the company shifted to AI data center infrastructure in 2024 to meet growing market demand, positioning the Alabama site as its flagship modular project.

3. Modular Data Center Design

The facility features a tier-three design rated for 99.98% uptime, incorporating dual chillers, generators and UPS for redundancy. Testing is ongoing with full operations slated for mid-May.

4. Scalability and Growth Plans

With 70MW of total power availability and 55MW dedicated to IT load, the site can replicate up to 55 modules. Revenue streams include GPU-as-a-service bare metal rentals and co-location agreements, supported by on-site combined cycle gas power generation.
