Digi SmartSense survey finds 79% of retail loss prevention leaders more concerned about cargo theft
DGII•A survey of 150 U.S. loss and organized retail crime prevention leaders found 79% were more concerned about cargo theft than ever, while 70% planned to increase prevention spending this year.
1. Survey findings
Digi International published a SmartSense cargo theft report based on the survey. Sixty-three percent of respondents saw more incidents year over year, 80% cited lost sales tied to cargo theft, and 40% reported at least $1 million in annual losses, including 28% who reported more than $2 million.
2. Prevention spending
Eighty-one percent said theft was becoming more organized. Seventy percent planned higher investment in prevention this year, prioritizing real-time location visibility and pattern analytics.
