Digital Realty has acquired a Lisbon data center supporting up to 2.4 MW of IT load, marking its first facility in Portugal. The site’s proximity to 16 subsea cable landings and connections to Accra, Lagos and Cape Town will reduce latency and strengthen Europe-Africa interconnections.

Digital Realty completed the acquisition of an existing Lisbon data center expected to support up to 2.4 MW of IT load, marking its entry into Portugal and expanding its global footprint.

Situated near the Carcavelos subsea cable landings where 16 cables converge, the facility offers direct low-latency routes to the Americas, Africa and Asia, and is already interconnected with campuses in Accra, Lagos and Cape Town.
