Dillard's to shift primary listings to Texas as new stock exchange gains traction
DDS•More companies announce planned moves to TXSE
Besides the fashion retailer, regional lenders Origin Bancorp OBK.N and Texas Capital Bancshares TCBI.O announced earlier this month that they would shift their listings to the TXSE from the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq, respectively.
All three companies are slated to begin trading on the new exchange in October.
While the TXSE is pitching Texas' business-friendly laws and regulations to attract listings, companies on the new exchange must also be incorporated in Texas to benefit from the state's legal and regulatory protections.
Texas-headquartered companies and TXSE backers
Several major corporations have already relocated their headquarters to Texas, some citing a 2025 state law that bolsters corporate defenses against shareholder lawsuits, including Exxon Mobil XOM.N and Elon Musk's Tesla TSLA.O and SpaceX SPCX.O. None of these, however, have shifted their primary stock listings to the TXSE.
The new exchange is backed by Wall Street investors including BlackRock BLK.N, Citadel Securities and Charles Schwab SCHW.N. Kelcy Warren, a Texas-based billionaire and executive chairman of pipeline operator Energy Transfer ET.N, also had a significant stake in TXSE Group as of 2025, according to an SEC filing.
Earlier this month, the pipeline operator joined midstream energy services provider USA Compression Partners USAC.N and fuel distribution firms Sunoco LP SUN.N and SunocoCorp LLC SUNC.N in announcing a shift in primary listings to the TXSE by early October. All four companies are headquartered in Texas.
Dillard's to move primary listing to Texas exchange
Sept. 18 (Reuters) - Dillard's DDS.N on Friday said it would transfer its primary listings from the NYSE to the Texas Stock Exchange, joining a string of companies heading to the fledgling bourse that aims to challenge the two dominant US national stock exchanges.
