Discovery Green, SANParks sponsor renewable power covering over 25% of Kruger National Park electricity use
SSL•Discovery Green and SANParks are sponsoring renewable power for Kruger National Park, covering more than 25% of its annual electricity use. The park accounts for about 70% of SANParks’ scope 2 emissions and hosted more than 1.8 million guests in 2025.
1. Renewable power supply
The sponsorship, delivered through Ampli Energy, a Discovery Green product partnered with Sasol, has been in place for the past few months. The renewable power is generated off-site and delivered through the grid, avoiding large on-site capital needs or land-use trade-offs.
