Dollar General reported Q2 sales of $11.29 billion, compared with estimates of $11.20 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Shares rise after outlook increase
Shares of Dollar General DG.N were up 13% at $138.90 in premarket trading.
The company raised its annual sales and profit forecasts, betting on its lower-priced essentials to attract value-seeking shoppers amid macroeconomic uncertainty.
Updated full-year sales and profit targets
Dollar General now expects annual same-store sales to grow in the range of 2.5% to 2.9%, compared with its previous forecast of 2.2% to 2.7%.
It sees FY26 sales growth in the range of about 4.0% to 4.3%, versus a previous expectation of 3.7% to 4.2%.
