Dow rises after topping second-quarter profit estimates
Shares of chemicals maker Dow (DOW.N) were up 2.1% at $31.90 in premarket trading.
The company beat second-quarter profit estimates, helped by higher prices and volumes as a result of the Middle East conflict-driven supply shock.
Dow posted second-quarter adjusted profit of $1.44 per share, compared with estimates of $1.28 per share, according to LSEG data.
Net sales from its packaging and specialty plastics segment rose 27% to $6.4 billion from a year earlier, driven by higher polyethylene prices in all regions.
As of the previous close, Dow was up 33.7% year to date.
