Duke Energy Florida plans 1.4 GW battery storage and 12 new solar sites

Duke Energy Florida said it expects to deliver $50 million in customer savings in 2027. The company also said it will pass more than $500 million in tax credits to customers and avoid a 2% base rate increase through tax credit acceleration.
Battery storage and solar buildout planned through 2028
Duke Energy Florida said it plans to build 1.4 gigawatts of battery storage over the next 10 years and establish 12 new solar sites by the end of 2028. The company said the solar additions are expected to save customers $3 billion.
