DuPont Powers 12 U.S. Healthcare Sites with 30,000 MWh of Renewable Electricity
DD•DuPont matched 30,000 MWh of annual electricity consumption at 12 U.S. healthcare manufacturing sites with Renewable Energy Certificates to power operations with 100% renewable electricity. This reduces Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions and advances DuPont’s 2035 climate goals and net-zero by 2050 commitment.
1. Renewable Power Adoption at Healthcare Sites
DuPont has transitioned power for 12 U.S. healthcare manufacturing sites to 100% renewable electricity through the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates. This initiative matches approximately 30,000 MWh of annual electricity consumption at these facilities, fully covering their grid power use.
2. Emissions Reduction and Climate Goals
The shift to renewable electricity reduces Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions from grid-sourced power and propels progress against DuPont’s 2035 carbon-reduction targets. It also aligns with the company’s broader ambition to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
3. Strategic and Market Implications
With over half of its global electricity now from renewable sources, DuPont strengthens its decarbonization strategy and supports customers’ sustainability objectives. This move enhances its reputation in the healthcare sector as an environmentally responsible supplier and may drive competitive differentiation.
