UNG•
UNG•Dutch front-month gas prices reached €100.10/MWh, their highest level since December 2022, as Houthi attacks intensified and QatarEnergy extended force majeure on LNG deliveries to end-December.
The Dutch front-month gas contract rose €4.094 to €100.10/MWh by 1444 GMT, touching €100/MWh for the first time since December 2022. The British front-month contract gained 10.17 pence to 247.5 pence per therm.
Edison said QatarEnergy extended force majeure on LNG deliveries to end-December from an earlier deadline in December, leaving Edison and some South Asian clients without deliveries until year-end. Analysts cited limited Middle East exports, disruptions to Norwegian flows, low storage levels—particularly in Germany—and forecasts for colder, calmer weather. Lower-than-normal German wind output has also increased demand for gas from power plants.
