1. Kingsport expansion
Eastman plans to increase capacity at its Kingsport, Tennessee, methanolysis facility by approximately 30% through debottlenecking and technology improvements. The company secured reinstatement of a $375 million U.S. Department of Energy award, less approximately $35 million already received, to support the plans.
2. Staged investments
The investment plan also includes restarting underutilized U.S. recycling assets and planning a potential second U.S. methanolysis facility. Investments will proceed in milestone-based stages aligned with customer contracts and supportive policy; Eastman said it has flexibility on the second facility’s location and timing. Kingsport revenue growth is expected at up to $100 million in 2026 versus 2025, exceeding $100 million again in 2027.
