Ecopetrol appointed Joaquín Gutiérrez Caballero as CEO and principal legal representative effective Sept. 28, 2026; interim CEO Camilo Barco will step down Sept. 27.

Ecopetrol’s board appointed Gutiérrez Caballero as chief executive officer and principal legal representative, effective Sept. 28, 2026. Barco will step down as interim CEO the previous day. Gutiérrez Caballero has more than 30 years of professional experience and postgraduate specializations in telecommunications project management and law, and healthcare services management.
