Ecopetrol earmarks $3.32 billion for open innovation challenges on energy transition, grid reliability

Ecopetrol launched five open-innovation challenges in La Guajira focused on energy transition, grid reliability, risk management and digitalization.
Up to COP 3.32 billion has been earmarked to mature, validate and implement selected solutions under its 2040 strategy.
The largest allocations target solar surplus-energy use, electrical-system reliability and hydroturbine self-generation, each budgeted at COP 820 million.
Two additional challenges cover transmission-line vegetation analytics and a mathematical risk-map tool, each budgeted at COP 430 million.
