BOGOTA, Aug. 3 (Reuters) - Colombia's state oil producer Ecopetrol reported on Monday that its second-quarter net profit more than tripled compared to the year-ago period to 6.06 trillion pesos ($1.93 billion).

Revenues for the quarter rose by 35% year-over-year between April and June to 40.19 trillion pesos, the group said in a filing.
