EDBLEDBL

Edible Garden AG received a $2.66 million incentive from the Iowa Economic Development Authority to convert a 400,000-square-foot Webster City facility into an automated ready-to-drink nutrition beverage plant. At full capacity the site is expected to produce over 100 million RTD units annually, enhancing supply chain integration and diversifying revenue.

1. Facility Redevelopment and Funding

Edible Garden is repurposing a former aquaculture facility in Webster City, Iowa, under a $2.66 million incentive package from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The 400,000-square-foot site will be transformed into a state-of-the-art automated production hub, aligning with the company’s vertically integrated controlled environment agriculture model.

2. Production Capacity and Technology

The new plant will leverage advanced precision processing, automation and the company’s Zero-Waste Inspired® approach to manufacture shelf-stable, plant- and dairy-based protein beverages. Once operational, it is projected to produce more than 100 million ready-to-drink beverage units annually, supporting higher-margin, value-added product lines.

3. Market Distribution and Sustainability Impact

Edible Garden plans broad national distribution of its RTD nutrition beverages to diversify its consumer-packaged goods platform and enhance revenue streams. The expansion also aims to improve supply chain integration, drive regional economic development and reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainable, resource-efficient production.
