Eldorado Gold starts first two tailings filter presses at Skouries mine
EGO•Eldorado Gold brought the first two tailings filter presses online at its Skouries mine in northern Greece. Commissioning of the remaining four is expected to finish in November 2026.
1. Commissioning advances
The plant is operating continuously, with throughput increasing as commissioning advances toward commercial production. Four presses are required for commercial production on sulphide ore; five support nameplate throughput, and a sixth provides spare capacity.
2. Mine life output
Skouries is expected to average 140,000 ounces of gold and 67 million pounds of copper annually over its mine life.
