Electra Battery Materials appoints Douglas Geniti senior advisor for commercial strategy

Most recently, he served as senior manager for cobalt, nickel and minor metals at Sumitomo Corporation of the Americas.
At Sumitomo, he led commercial strategy and trading activities.
Earlier, he spent more than 10 years at Sogem-Afrimet, now part of Umicore, and African Metals Corporation.
In those roles, he ran the North American sales agency for Gécamines cobalt and managed logistics and sales.
Senior adviser appointment supports cobalt sulfate refinery plans
Electra Battery Materials engaged Douglas Geniti as senior adviser for commercial strategy.
This engagement supports construction of its North American cobalt sulfate refinery toward commissioning and a 2027 ramp-up.
Geniti is based in New York. He will focus on feedstock strategy, customer engagement, product marketing, and commercial agreements. His work will emphasize the US market.
