Elevra Lithium Breaks Ground on North American Lithium Expansion after A$275M Raise
ELVR•Elevra Lithium officially broke ground on its fully funded North American Lithium Expansion project following a A$275 million May 2026 capital raise that strengthened its balance sheet. Stage 1, due mid-CY27, will increase annual spodumene concentrate production by 15–20% and reduce unit operating costs via enhanced scale and efficiency.
1. Groundbreaking Ceremony
On June 29, 2026, Elevra Lithium commenced construction on its North American Lithium Expansion project at the NAL site. The event was attended by board members, senior management and project leadership to mark the start of Stage 1 development.
2. Funding and Equipment
The expansion is fully funded by a A$275 million institutional placement completed in May 2026, which bolstered the company's balance sheet and underwrites the staged growth strategy. Key equipment has been ordered to adhere to the planned timeline and mitigate scheduling risks.
3. Impact on Production and Costs
Stage 1 is scheduled for completion in mid-CY27 and is expected to increase annual spodumene concentrate capacity by 15–20%. The larger scale is also projected to reduce unit operating costs through improved efficiency, enhancing NAL’s competitive position in North American battery materials supply.
