Embracer buys Island Hoppers assets for USD 4.5 million upfront
GDEV•Embracer Group acquired Island Hoppers’ full assets and rights from GDEV-owned Nexters Global for approximately USD 4.5 million upfront, with an earn-out capped at approximately USD 500,000. The transaction was completed in August 2026 and announced on November 6, 2026.

Embracer Group acquired Island Hoppers’ full assets and rights from GDEV-owned Nexters Global through its DECA subsidiary, A Thinking Ape Entertainment. Cash consideration includes approximately USD 4.5 million upfront and an earn-out capped at approximately USD 500,000.
2. Publishing and development
A Thinking Ape will lead publishing and development, investing in user acquisition, live operations and content. Estimated cash flows from the acquired asset imply a payback period of approximately 2.5–3.5 years.
