EP•Empire Petroleum completes deep well re-entry in Madison County
Empire Petroleum completed a 21,006-foot re-entry and subsurface evaluation of the Wakefield-Harrison GU B #1 in Madison County, Texas.
Work returned a full open-hole logging suite and sidewall cores, with gas and liquids shows across the logged interval.
Project cost totaled about $4.4 million, using a legacy 1959 wellbore instead of a new ultra-deep well.
Evaluation opens about 11,000 feet below the Fort Trinidad field’s historic development depth, supporting plans for deeper gas development.
Two additional wells are slated for deepening to add logs, VSP data, and cores to refine 3D seismic interpretation.
