Enbridge says CEO Greg Ebel to retire, names insider Harradence to succeed

Sept. 8 (Reuters) - Enbridge said on Tuesday its CEO Greg Ebel will retire at the end of the year, and the Canadian energy infrastructure company named gas utility chief Michele Harradence as its next chief after its expansion in U.S. natural gas utilities.
Company background and leadership changes
During his tenure as CEO, Enbridge expanded its U.S. natural gas utility business through the acquisition of three utilities from Dominion Energy. The deals helped make Enbridge one of North America's largest integrated gas utility companies.
Enbridge now has a secured growth backlog worth C$41 billion spanning its liquids pipelines, gas transmission and storage, natural gas utilities and renewable power businesses.
Harradence has been leading the company's gas utilities since 2022, including guiding the integration of the firm's U.S. utility businesses. She joined Enbridge in 2014, having previously served in senior leadership roles with Shell Canada.
Ebel joined Enbridge in 2017, following the company's acquisition of Spectra Energy, and became the company's president and CEO in January 2023.
