Encompass Health has announced plans to develop a freestanding, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Bear, Delaware. This facility will become the company’s second location in the state, expanding its footprint in the Greater New Castle County region.

The new hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care alongside physical, occupational and speech therapies. Key amenities include private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, an in-house dialysis suite, dining services, a pharmacy and a therapy courtyard.
3. Strategic Expansion
This project reinforces Encompass Health’s national network of 174 rehabilitation hospitals across 39 states and Puerto Rico. By boosting bed capacity and service offerings in Delaware, the company aims to strengthen regional referral relationships and support long-term revenue growth.
