Energy companies gain as Brent crude rises above $100/barrel mark

U.S.-listed shares of energy companies gained in premarket, tracking a rise in oil prices.
Brent crude futures were up about 3% at $100.76 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate rose 2.43% to $95.29 per barrel.
Energy majors, producers and refiners advance
Energy majors Exxon and Chevron were each up 0.74%.
Oil and gas producers Occidental Petroleum rose 1.2%, Diamondback Energy gained 2.4%, and Devon Energy rose 1.1%.
Oilfield services company Baker Hughes gained 1.1%.
Refiners PBF Energy and Valero Energy were up 1.4% and about 1%, respectively.
Crude tops $100 as Middle East conflict intensifies
Prices breached the $100-per-barrel mark, hitting a six-week high on Wednesday as intensifying conflict in the Middle East heightened concerns about oil flows.
