Energy Fuels Adds 6,000-Ton NdPr Oxide Capacity at Utah Mill

UUUUUUUU

Energy Fuels completed commissioning of its Phase 2 circuit at the White Mesa Mill in Utah, boosting annual NdPr oxide output by up to 6,000 tonnes. This positions the company as a primary domestic supplier of heavy rare‐earth feedstock ahead of a 2027 U.S. ban on Chinese‐origin materials in defense systems.

1. Phase 2 Circuit Commissioned at White Mesa Mill

Energy Fuels leveraged its uranium processing expertise to bring the White Mesa Mill’s Phase 2 circuit online, capable of producing up to 6,000 tonnes per annum of neodymium‐praseodymium (NdPr) oxide. This expansion nearly doubles the mill’s rare‐earth oxide capacity and integrates seamlessly with existing operations, providing feedstock for downstream conversion and alloying.

2. Enhancing U.S. Defense Rare Earth Supply

By ramping NdPr oxide output at a domestic facility, Energy Fuels becomes a key supplier of heavy rare‐earth elements for U.S. defense manufacturers. The added capacity supports Pentagon requirements to eliminate Chinese‐origin magnets by 2027 and bolsters strategic supply chain resilience for missile guidance, radar and avionics applications.
