EnerSys targets up to 96% peak efficiency for Alpha XM Edge power system in development update
ENS•EnerSys reported development progress on its Alpha XM Edge power system for cable broadband networks, targeting up to 96% peak efficiency and commercial availability in 2027.
1. Development milestones
EnerSys said key hardware and software milestones are complete, with system integration, validation and production-readiness work continuing. Validation testing covers line-to-standby transfer, redundant module operation, and protection against surge, overcurrent and short-circuit conditions. Expanded customer field evaluations are planned for fall 2026, with limited availability targeted for spring 2027 and broader rollout in summer 2027.
