Eni affiliate Eni CCUS Holding installs Douglas offshore CO2 storage platform
E•Eni CCUS Holding completed installation of the Douglas offshore platform for Liverpool Bay CCS, which is about 50% complete. The project is expected to direct roughly 60% of its investment value to the UK supply chain and support more than 2,000 construction jobs.
1. Platform installation
Eni CCUS Holding, jointly owned by Eni and BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners, completed installation of the Douglas CCS offshore platform. Designed as Liverpool Bay CCS’s offshore hub, the platform will move captured CO2 to depleted gas fields for permanent storage.
2. Project progress
Liverpool Bay CCS is about 50% complete and underpins the UK’s HyNet industrial decarbonization cluster. Roughly 60% of total project investment value is expected to go to the UK supply chain, supporting more than 2,000 construction jobs.
