Eni Discovers 2 Tcf Gas and 130 Mbbl Condensate in Egypt Concession
Eni discovered 2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 130 million barrels of condensate in its Denise W-1 well, 70km offshore Egypt’s Temsah Concession and less than 10km from existing facilities. The well’s 50m of net pay supports fast-track development under a 20-year concession extension with 50% working interest.
1. Discovery Overview
Eni has uncovered around 2 trillion cubic feet of gas and an estimated 130 million barrels of associated condensate in the Denise W-1 exploration well drilled in Egypt’s Temsah Concession, positioned 70km offshore in 95m of water and within 10km of existing production facilities.
2. Reservoir and Development Potential
The well encountered approximately 50m of net pay in a gas-bearing sandstone reservoir comparable to the nearby Temsah field, offering high reservoir quality and enabling potential fast-track development leveraging adjacent infrastructure.
3. Concession Terms and Partnerships
Under a 20-year extension signed in July 2025, Eni holds a 50% working interest and operatorship in the Denise Development Lease, with bp owning the remaining 50%, and operations conducted through the Petrobel joint venture with EGPC.
