Eni meets Sannazzaro suppliers to outline refinery transformation plans
E•Eni outlined plans for a new FCC unit, conversion of its HDC2 hydrocracker to a biorefinery, waste-to-chemical studies with Met Development and a waste-to-energy project with A2A at its Sannazzaro site.
1. Refinery plans
Eni met local contractors at its Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi industrial site to outline development and transition plans. They include a new FCC unit to secure diesel, gasoline and jet fuel supply for northwest Italy, and converting the HDC2 hydrocracker to a biorefinery targeted to produce HVO diesel and support SAF-Biojet output. Advanced studies with Met Development cover making circular methanol and hydrogen from non-recyclable waste; a separate project with A2A aims to generate power from industrial waste beside the dismantled EST unit.
