Enovix Commercializes Silicon-Anode Smart Eyewear Batteries, Unveils 360 Wh/kg MX-1 Drone Cell
In Q1 2026, Enovix started commercial production of its silicon-anode smart eyewear battery and advanced smartphone qualification with its lead OEM, targeting deployment in H2 2026. Its Korea pipeline exceeded $130m driven by drone design wins, launching the 360 Wh/kg MX-1 drone cell platform aiming for 400 Wh/kg in 2027.
1. Manufacturing and Production Readiness
In Q1 2026, Enovix achieved approximately 80% step-level yield in zone 1 dicing at its Korea factory and implemented a hybrid laser-mechanical dicing strategy to boost throughput. Initial smart eyewear battery units have shipped, with a full ramp planned in Q3 to support about 50,000 units in 2026.
2. Smartphone Qualification Progress
Enovix aligned with its lead smartphone OEM on a silicon-specific qualification framework and is adapting a similar protocol with a second OEM, enhancing cycle-life, energy density and fast-charge metrics. System-level deployment with a lead customer is targeted for the second half of 2026 pending completion of extended testing and in-field validation.
3. Drone Platform and Pipeline Expansion
The company launched its MX-1 drone cell platform delivering 360 Wh/kg energy density and extended cycle life, with a 2027 goal of 400 Wh/kg. Its global pipeline for Korea-manufactured products now exceeds $130 million, driven by design wins in drone, defense and industrial markets ahead of 2027 deployments.
