Entain warns Brazil's online betting ban could hit 2026 online gaming growth
FLUT•Entain said its 2026 online net gaming revenue growth would be 4% to 6% if Brazil's online betting ban is upheld, and it expects underlying core profit and margins at the lower ends of its guidance ranges.
1. Brazil ban threatens growth
Entain warned that Brazil's ban on online sports betting and gaming could hit its 2026 online net gaming revenue growth if upheld for the rest of the year. The company had expected Brazil to represent about 5% of its 2026 online net gaming revenue and said its Brazilian operations were complying with the provisional measure.
2. Updated 2026 outlook
Entain expects annual online net gaming revenue growth of 4% to 6% if the ban is maintained. Excluding Brazil, it said it remains on track for growth at the top end of its 5% to 7% guidance on a constant-currency basis. It expects underlying core profit at the lower end of its previously guided £910 million to £960 million range and margins at the lower end of its 21% to 22% range.
3. Ban requires approval
The provisional measure revokes online betting licences and requires congressional approval within 120 days to remain in force. Entain said it was disappointed by the development, which it said occurred without consultation of industry stakeholders.
