EPAM and TGS Deploy AWS Cloud Platform for Faster, Lower-Cost Seismic Imaging
EPAM•EPAM and TGS have deployed TGS Imaging AnyWare on AWS, migrating seismic imaging workflows to an elastic cloud platform that leverages Graviton and Spot instances. The integrated solution delivers faster processing and lower computing costs, enabling energy companies to accelerate exploration decisions and reduce infrastructure spending.
1. Deployment of TGS Imaging AnyWare on AWS
EPAM worked with TGS to migrate the Imaging AnyWare platform to Amazon Web Services, leveraging AWS Graviton-based instances and Spot capacity. This migration shifts petabyte-scale seismic processing from on-premises clusters to an elastic cloud environment, reducing capital infrastructure needs and improving workflow flexibility.
2. Core Technical Capabilities Delivered
The collaboration introduces three key modules: a centralized, OSDU-compliant data streaming layer for in-browser visualization; cloud-native seismic imaging optimized for performance gains and cost savings; and a modular HPC orchestrator that AI-enables end-to-end subsurface workflows.
3. Business and Sector Impact
By accelerating decision-making and lowering computing costs, EPAM and TGS offer energy operators a more agile exploration and production toolset. The enhanced platform positions EPAM to capture further digital transformation projects in the energy sector and strengthens its AI engineering credentials.
