Equifax agrees to acquire Mexico credit bureau Círculo de Crédito for $750 million

Equifax agreed to buy Mexico credit bureau Círculo de Crédito for an enterprise value of $750 million.

The deal expands Equifax into Mexico, Latin America’s second-largest economy. Círculo is the only local bureau covering consumer and commercial credit.

Círculo has more than 1,700 customers and about 2 billion tradelines spanning 80 million validated identities.

The transaction adds alternative data capabilities. Equifax plans to deploy cloud-native tools, EFX.AI, identity protection and fraud prevention across the platform.

Equifax expects the purchase to support its bolt-on acquisition strategy; it would be the 17th deal in six years.
