EQIXEQIX

Equinix is scaling its Pathways to Tech early-career program to all data centers worldwide after a two-year pilot reached nearly 2,000 students across the Americas and Asia-Pacific. The company is also launching a global technician training coalition co-funded by Cisco in Brazil starting June and expanding apprenticeships in six markets.

1. Global Pathways to Tech Expansion

Equinix is rolling out its Pathways to Tech program to every IBX data center worldwide following a two-year pilot that engaged nearly 2,000 students in the Americas and Asia-Pacific. The initiative gives 14–18-year-olds hands-on exposure through interactive sessions, data center tours and Education Day events, feeding into internships, apprenticeships and early-career operations roles.

2. Global Technician Training Coalition

The Equinix Foundation and Generation have formed a global, multi-employer coalition to develop data center technician skills and curricula. The first cohort launches in Brazil this June with co-funding from Cisco, marking the start of a broader coalition expansion planned for 2026 to address industry-wide talent shortages.

3. Expanded Apprenticeships and Internships

Equinix is relaunching its centralized apprenticeship and internship programs across six critical markets—Brazil, France, Germany, the United States, Singapore and the United Kingdom. The refreshed curriculum and consistent standards aim to build a resilient technical workforce by creating direct pathways into full-time operations roles.
